Introducing DOG HOUSE'S TOP DOG for March 2017......Ximena!! The coaches really noticed that Xime turned things up lately. She has been very consistent with training. She also has been serious about her nurtition and its showed in her performance at the gym. She is stringing together pull-ups, gaining strength in her lifts and just all around kicking butt!! Xime keep up the good work we are all very proud of you.

Interview with Ximena

1.) Age

A Lady doesn’t reveal her age, but next year, I'm competing in the Master's Division.

2.) How long have you been Crossfitting?

2 years

3.) Athletic background:

Growing up I lived on a farm and spent much of my time outside, but did not play organized sports. In my late 20s, I started competing in amateur sprint distance triathlons. Fitness was a part of my life, but my boyfriend introduced me to CF and I haven’t looked back. I am also completing a yoga instructor certification.

4.) What were your thoughts after your first WOD?

Initially, I was resistant to CF bc of the intensity and not fully understanding the benefits of weightlifting. When I did my first WOD, I thought,  “I knew it! This is too intense and who pays for this?”

5.) What is something no one knows about you?

I love to eat chicken gizzards and hearts.

6.) What are your training/fitness goals?

Increase strength to weight ratio while increasing flexibility through yoga

7.) What is your favorite WOD/movement?

Snatches and walking lunges

8.) What is your favorite cheat food?

Lately it has been scones...savory ones with good spices like rosemary.

9.) What's your favorite thing about Crossfit?

The community and the balance it brings to my work life.

10.) What advice would you give new people to Crossfit?

Master the basics...and stay with it.

11.) Coolest place you've traveled?

Central Brazil, Brasilia the capital is there and along with the surrounding geography, it was just beautiful. And the food amazing.

12) If you are throwing a party what bands would you hire for cocktails? dinner? after party?

I will answer this as my favorite artists of late...

  • Don Omar (Reggaeton, b*tches)

  • Led Zeppelin

  • Janis Jopplin

13) Do you have a most embarrassing moment? Can you share it?

Everyone has embarrassing moments...I tried to return something from JC Penny to Macy’s and argued with the customer service person. Later on,I figured it was from JC Penny.
